It's hard to believe that we are getting on a plane tomorrow afternoon, headed for Ukraine! It has been 5 short months since seeing Tanya's picture for the first time, and a few months ago we never could have imagined how both Tanya and Viktor would change our lives forever.
We are so thankful for the web of family, friends, church family, acquaintances, and even strangers that have made this journey possible. It has truly been a season of seeing God show off as He displays His faithfulness and mercy new every single day.
Our home and youngest three children will be taken care of by dear family and friends while we are away, and Anna is excited and privileged to get to join us in traveling. We feel so good about bringing her with us to share in this once in a lifetime experience for her, helping her feel a part of extending our family with two older children.
Please continue praying for us as so many of you are and have been. We feel and desperately need those prayers to throw off fear and anxiety, to cling to the gospel and our precious Savior, and for the peace of Christ to reign in our hearts and in the hearts of all of our children. It will be so hard for us to leave our little ones for so long, but we are beyond thankful for the wonderful care they will be in while we are away.
We will update the blog frequently while we are away as time and internet access allow, and will try to include "tips" for those of you who are anxiously waiting for your appointment date in Kiev. It has been amazing to connect with so many incredible families who have also been called to adoption.
We feel the heaviness of leaving so many friends and family with great needs, and so we long to stay connected while we are away, so that we can know how to better pray for each of you. The best way to reach us is through email. Blessings to each of you!
