Saturday was a fun day --- first Tanya and Natasha did some early morning errands (more paperwork). After they returned home we got ready and went to Khortytsia island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khortytsia). A great place to visit if you are ever here. We had already been on the island, but I did not know how much more it had to offer! We enjoyed a Cossack Horse (stunt) show and got to feed some animals that were there. Right next door was a place that they are restoring some Cossack boats that they have found on the bottom of the Dnieper river. They have been restoring them for over 20 years and this area is not usually obvious to the public. Fortunately our taxi driver Vlad knew about it. It was really cool!
After that we toured different ancient areas of the island dating back to thousands of years before Christ. It was humbling to walk through an ancient burial ground of heroes and legends of this area -- all dead for thousands of years.
It was a fun day -- the last weekend in Zaporozhye for the kids...
