Nothing could have prepared us for the sheer emotion of the process. Sure, we thought of all of the highs that would come, but we thought little about the potential lows. Everyday day is filled with some of both. It truly feels like a roller coaster sometimes! A good aspect of all of this is that I am learning to trust the Lord a lot more. Truly, there has been no other place to turn for strength, support, and courage. He has been our Rock!
We got to walk to the dam to show Drampie the hydro-electric plant (he’s an engineer)...and there the generators were built in the 30’s in Schenectady, NY (my hometown). That and McDonalds too! Working on the passport has been a long saga, but some progress has been made.
Come today, we have more visits to get Viktor’s passport and we need to get some other paperwork completed too. The big part of the day is going back to Matveevka for the kids to say goodbye to their home and friends for the last 8 years. I expect it to be beautiful and difficult. Tomorrow they will officially become Lawrys -- the 10 day waiting period has flown by!
Hopefully we will be able to leave Zap early next week!
